“I am thrilled by the enhancement of this project through solar power,” said Forest Preserve District of DuPage County President Daniel Hebreard. “The new building will be a terrific venue for events ranging from golf outings to Forest Preserve District education programs, and the solar arrays support our organization’s mission of conservation for all who visit The Preserve.”

The Preserve at Oak Meadows, opened in 2017, is an award-winning golf club located in Addison, IL. Many of its awards and accolades received were from environmentalists and national golf publications. Upon the completion of its 43.78kW solar system, the golf course received the following awards: Renovation of the Year from Golf Inc. Magazine; Green Star Environmental Award from Golf Digest for its environmental solution; and the Force of Nature Award from Chicago Wilderness for serving as a role model with its conservation and restoration efforts.

With over 135 EAGLE 60HM G2 modules installed, The Preserve at Oak Meadows is the first golf course in the U.S. with a fully solar-powered golf cart fleet. This project is expected to generate approximately 55,000 kWh per year, which is enough energy to power all 75 golf cars annually. Coupling the right products with proper time management enabled the installers at Windfree Solar to plan and complete this project around the golf course’s busy operating schedule.

Windfree Solar, with the help of distributor CED Greentech Chicago, selected JinkoSolar for this government construction project because of their product availability, and the reputation of their quality modules assembled in their Jacksonville, FL. factory.
